Due to changes in the local political boundaries and system the number of Councillors in Bartley Green Ward will change from 3 to 2. On Thursday May 3rd 2018 elections will be held to select the two councillors for Bartley Green Ward the candidates standing for election are below.

  • Lines, Bruce John - Conservative Party
  • Lines, John - Conservative Party
  • Osborne, David - Liberal Democrat Party
  • Osborne, Maureen Ada - Liberal Democrat Party
  • Preston, Paul - Labour Party
  • Robertson, James - Green Party
  • Shemmans, Joanne - Labour Party

The 2 candidates elected shall serve a term of 4 years unless they should resign the position.

Bartley Green sits within the Edgbaston Westminster Parliamentary Constituency* and the representative elected in 2017 to serve in parliament is Preet Gill MP. *Bartley Green will be moving constituencies at the next general election when it is called due to boundary changes in the area.

Bartley Green sits within the West Midlands European Parliament Constituency* *Due to the decision to leave the EU there are no more planned elections for this position and the role will be ended on 29th March 2019

Bartley Green has 3 representatives on the local City Council: John Lines, Bruce Lines and Des Flood, all represent the Conservative Party.

The Councillors hold their Advice Bureaux on the following days and venues each month.

  • 1st Wednesday in month 7:30pm : Long Nuke Hall, Long Nuke Rd
  • 2nd Wednesday in month 7:30pm : St Michaels Church Hall, Field Lane
  • 3rd Wednesday in month 7:30pm : Woodgate Valley Church Centre, Illeybrook Square
